PLC Simulator GUI:
The purpose of the PLC simulator GUI is to provide a range of information displayed on a single screen. This information ranges from bit display to program code to status indicators. A green horizontal highlight on both sides of the contact represents the Bit Status. When the contact is green, it shows that the rung's condition is being met. It is true.
A green highlighted normally closed contact shows its memory location equals zero. A normally closed contact in a rung looks for the condition of the relay's coil NOT being energized. See the truth table.
How To Run PLC Simulations
The simulator's user interface makes it easy to run PLC simulations:
1. Open one of the 200+ PLC programming example files.
2. Go "Online" with the PLC.
3. Start the simulated 3D-word process.
When the user picks "Online," the simulator uploads the program to the PLC. It then sets the PLC to "RUN" mode. When the selector is "Offline", the simulator is in "PROG" mode so that the user can edit ladder logic.
This PLC simulator encourages offline program editing whenever possible. This is best practice.
