RSLogix 5000®, is North America's most-used controller platform in newer equipment. So, gaining hands-on experience with the PLCLogix 5000 Simulator is essential. PLCLogix 5000 Simulator GUI:
The PLCLogix GUI shows the ladder logic, controller organizer, I/O chassis, and various toolbars and tabs. The ladder logic appears identical to that in RSLogix 5000®. The controller organizer uses the same setup as RSLogix™. This ensures a smooth switch from PLCLogix simulation to real RSLogix™ control.
This simulator also mimics the advanced features of the 5000 software. Users can create or edit User-Defined Tags (UDTs), adjust analog I/O modules, etc.
How To Run PLC Simulations
The simulator's user interface makes it easy to run PAC simulations:
1. Open one of the 200+ PAC programming example files.
2. Go "Online" with the PAC.
3. Start the simulated 3D-word process.
When the user picks "Online," the simulator uploads the program to the PLC. It then sets the PLC to "RUN" mode. When the selector is "Offline", the simulator is in "PROG" mode so that the user can edit ladder logic and controller properties.
This PLC simulator encourages offline program editing whenever possible. This is best practice.
